Family feud leads to charges for three

MAYVILLE — Three family members involved in an altercation Saturday morning are facing charges.

At around 10:15 a.m., Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on Munson Road for the report of an altercation. An investigation revealed that three subjects were allegedly involved in the altercation.

Subsequently Randall P. Gilbert, 48, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment. Kale R. Gilbert, 22, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and Kennedy J. Gilbert, 24, was charged with second-degree harassment. Randall Gilbert and Kale Gilbert were remanded to Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program and Kennedy Gilbert was released with an appearance ticket.

Kennedy Gilbert is to be in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.

Jamestown man facing drug charges after stop

JAMESTOWN — A city man is facing drug charges after being pulled over early Saturday.

Before 1 a.m., Chautauqua County deputies observed a vehicle cross both the white fog line and the yellow line on Jones and Gifford. Deputies did stop the vehicle and identified the driver as Eric D. Barbee, 37, of 169 Barrett Ave. Upon further investigation Barbee was found to be driving while intoxicated.

Barbee was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of cocaine. Barbee was charged with DWI, DWI per se, failure to maintain lane, failure to keep right, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

¯ A Fredonia woman is facing a driving while intoxicated charge.

Around 4 a.m. Jan. 7, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation in the town of Pomfret. A subsequent investigation found that the operator of the vehicle, Gina M. Mitchell, 28, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Mitchell was taken into custody and charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI, and Improper/No signal.

Mitchell was released and will answer to her charges in the Town of Pomfret court at a later date.

¯ KIANTONE — Two Jamestown residents are facing marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child charges after a traffic stop.

Around 12:30 a.m. Friday, deputies stopped a motor vehicle on Route 60 near Martin Road for having only one working headlight. Upon stopping the vehicle deputies spoke with the driver Selena Santiago, 23, of 45 Franklin St., and while speaking with the driver the deputy could smell marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The front seat passenger of the vehicle Dakota Raymond, 21, of 440 Windsor St. did produce a marijuana cigar.

The driver was given and failed field sobriety and was arrested for DWAI drugs. Also in the vehicle was a 2-year-old child prompting the additional charges against the driver of DWAI Leandra Law and endangering the welfare of a child. The passenger was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

¯ FORESTVILLE — A Forestville man faces charges after an alleged altercation.

Deputies responded to an address on Pearl Street in Forestville at about 2 p.m. on Jan. 7 for the report of an altercation. Investigation revealed that Joel R. Tefft, 42, of Forestville allegedly damaged property during the altercation.

Tefft was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.
