Vehicle crashes into pole following domestic incident

JAMESTOWN — Jamestown Police were investigating a domestic incident that ended with a vehicle crashing into a pole Thursday morning.

A city man was being questioned by the Jamestown Police Department after a car was initially reported stolen from a Kiantone residence. That same vehicle then crashed into a pole near the intersection of Foote Avenue and Harrison Street in Jamestown around 9:30 a.m. The man reportedly left the scene following the crash but was later located. No further information was available.

Bemus Point man charged in threats, damages

ELLERY — An altercation Wednesday afternoon led to charges against a Bemus Point resident.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on Belleview Road around 1:10 p.m. in the town. After an investigation, Timothy J. Bethlehem, 50, made verbal threats to an individual and damaged property within the residence.

Bethlehem was take into custody and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Bethlehem was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.

Bethlehem will appear in the Town of Ellery Court at a later date to answer for the charges.

Forestville man charged in grand larceny

PORTLAND — A Forestville man was charged Thursday with third-degree grand larceny after failing to complete a job he was allegedly paid to do.

Following an investigation that occurred around 8 a.m. Oct. 28, it was found that James W. Haskins, 40, was hired to complete roofing work in the town of Portland. Haskins accepted a check for $3,500 but failed to complete any of the work and did not attempt reimbursement to the victims.

Haskins was issued an appearance ticket and will be in the town of Portland Court at a later date and time.
