2 charged after disorderly person incident

BROCTON — An incident with a disorderly person led to two individuals being charged on Friday.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies along with New York State Police responded to a local business on East Main Street in the village for a report of a disorderly person around 4:40 p.m..

An investigation revealed that David McLaughlin allegedly damaged another person’s property and did subject the victim to physical contact. The victim alleged that they were spit on by Bambi Hawkins during the incident.

McLaughlin, 50, of Lake Avenue and Hawkins, 41, of Lake Avenue were located a short time later and was issued appearance tickets. McLaughlin was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Hawkins was charged with second-degree harassment.

Both are due to be in the Town of Portland Court at a later date and time to answer their charges.
