Ripley teen accused of sexual misconduct

RIPLEY — A Ripley teenager is accused of sexual misconduct.

On Jan. 21, an investigation about a suspicious situation was conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division. Upon the investigation, it was allegedly found that Cortland J. Hepfner, 19, of Ross Street did engage in an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile victim in the Town of Ripley.

Hepfner was issued an appearance ticket for sexual misconduct and will appear in Ripley Town Court at a later date and time.

Two males charged with drug, weapons possession

HANOVER — Two area men are facing drug and weapons charges.

On Thursday around 10:30 a.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff deputies responded to a business on Rts. 5 and 20 to check the well-being of two male subjects in a vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and identified the occupants as Glen Hurrell, 30 of Dunkirk and Shaun Ellison, of Silver Creek. During the investigation Deputies allegedly located various types of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia as well as an illegal weapon.

Hurrell was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, hypodermic instrument and drug paraphernalia, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.

Hurrell was released with appearance tickets and will answer his charges in the Town of Hanover court at a later date.

Ellison was charged with the same, but was also found to have a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment as well as the warrant.
