Chautauqua County Sheriff

¯ A Fredonia resident was charged after allegedly driving while intoxicated and driving with 0.08% or more blood/alcohol content.

At about 8:27 p.m. March 19, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to Vineyard Drive for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Deputies located the vehicle in question and contacted the driver. Investigation revealed Phillip Schrantz, 54, was allegedly found to be driving while intoxicated. Schrantz was subsequently arrested. He was taken into custody, processed and charged. He was released to appear in the town of Dunkirk Court at a later date and time to answer the charges.

¯ FREWSBURG — Charges are pending following a car accident involving Maddison J. Howard, 23.

At about 11:18 p.m. March 22, sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident on West Main Street. Upon arrival it was found that a vehicle operated by Howard was eastbound on Main Street when Howard lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. Howard was transported to UMPC WCA Hospital by Frewsburg ambulance for evaluation of apparent minor injuries.

State Police at Jamestown

¯ FREWSBURG — Troopers charged Ronald Swan III, 28, of North East, Pa., with driving while intoxicated.

Swan was pulled over on North Pearl Street after allegedly driving recklessly and after failing several field sobriety tests. He was transported to Jamestown barracks where he provided a breath sample of 0.16.

He is to be in the town of Carroll court on a later date.

¯ KENNEDY — Troopers charged Brooke Lucas, 27, with aggravated driving while intoxicated and Leandra’s Law.

Troopers responded to Miller Valley Road in Kennedy for a report of a motor vehicle accident. An investigation revealed that Lucas was driving west on Miller Valley Road when her vehicle exited the north side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, causing damage. The child in Lucas’ vehicle was transported to UPMC Hospital in Jamestown as a precaution. Lucas was uninjured. Lucas was placed under arrest after failing several field sobriety tests and transported to Jamestown where she provided a breath sample of 0.19. Lucas was then processed, issued tickets and released. Lucas is scheduled to appear in the town of Poland Court on a later date.

Gowanda Police

GOWANDA –On March 9, Cole L. Jimerson, 21, of Irving was charged with alleged switched license plates, unregistered motor vehicle, expired inspection, no insurance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Jimerson was operating a vehicle stopped by patrol for an expired inspection. During this traffic stop, a DMV computer check revealed that the license plates from this vehicle were from another vehicle as well as it appeared that there was no insurance on this vehicle. This computer check further revealed that Jimerson’s license was suspended in February 2018 for his failure to appear for a traffic violation in the town of Collins court. Jimerson was arrested and then released on an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Collins Court.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

¯ CATTARAUGUS — On March 21, Sammy McDaniels, 42, was charged with alleged disorderly conduct after patrol responded to a reported domestic incident on Jefferson Street. An investigation revealed that McDaniels was causing a disturbance outside of the apartment complex after the domestic incident occurred. McDaniels was using obscene language and had violent behavior towards deputies and EMS personnel. He was charged and will appear in New Albion town court at a later date and time.
