Westfield burglary leads to charges for Ripley man
WESTFIELD — A Ripley man is facing charges after being found in possession of a controlled substance after a larceny in the town on Saturday.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on Pigeon Road in the regarding a theft around 5:45 p.m. An investigation found that Michael S. Smith, 24, had unlawfully entered a residence and stolen property from the residence. Smith was also found to have possessed a controlled substance during the commission of the crime. Smith was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, petit larceny, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Program.
