Fredonia man perishes in motorcycle crash
A Fredonia man was killed over the weekend in a motorcycle crash.
State Police announced that Timothy Vogt, 31, was traveling on Fredonia-Stockton Road on a 2007 Harley Davidson around 3:40 p.m. Saturday in the town of Pomfret, following three friends on motorcycles. Vogt apparently lost control, crossed the center line and struck a trailer that was being towed by a pick-up truck, knocking him off the motorcycle. The unmanned motorcycle continued forward and struck a second vehicle.
State Police said there was no alcohol involved and the victim was traveling around 40 mph. They said he was “an inexperienced rider and riding a bike he was not accustomed to.”
Crews from Stockton and the Chautauqua County Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene.
