¯ Police arrested a Collins man on third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance charges on Sept. 6. after allegedly finding drugs in the vehicle. Police stopped Darius M. Blasdell, 22, at 3:43 p.m. for an exhaust violation and said they found a small amount of heroin. A computer check revealed that Blasdell’s license was suspended on Aug. 20 for an administrative action by the Department of Motor Vehicles. He was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Persia Court.

¯ Police arrested a Gowanda man Sept. 3 for operating a vehicle without a license.

Police stopped Bernard R. Bailey Jr. at 10:29 a.m. Sept. 3 for talking on his cell phone. A check on his license said that his license had been suspended and revoked a total of 17 times from Dec. 15, 2003 to May 31, 2018 for a driving while intoxicated conviction as well as numerous times for his failure to answer traffic violations in numerous courts.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicesened operation in addition to a cell phone violation and was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Collins Court.

¯ Police arrested a Gowanda man after responding to a report of a disturbance at a Walnut Street residence. Police were informed that Holton G. Pierce, 27, had been in a verbal argument with a female acquaintance that escalated into a physical altercation with Pierce allegedly pulling the victim’s hair, choking her, forcing her to the floor and kicking her multiple times in the shoulder. When the victim attempted to call police, Pierce forcibly took the phone out of her hand and refused to return it.

Further investigation revealed that Pierce had been in violation of an Order of Protection by the City of Salamanca Court that had mandated him not have contact with the victim.

He was arraigned in the Town of Persia Court and released on his own recognizance to appear at a later date.

¯ Police charged a Gowanda man with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation Sept. 15.

Officers stopped Joseph C. Gierszewski, 27, for operating a vehicle with an exhaust violation. A computer check found that his license had been suspended on Jan. 16 for an insurance lapse and suspended again on Jan. 31 for failure to pay child support.

He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Persia Court.

¯ Police charged a Gowanda man on a seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after being stopped for an exhaust violation.

Officers found Tyler P. Maynard, 34, allegedly in possession of numerous illegal narcotic pills as well as 10 illegal naloxone strips.

He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Persia Court.
