On Wednesday, Nicole M. Vazquez, 45, of Delevan was charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree welfare fraud.

Following an investigation into a complaint from the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services of suspected welfare fraud, Vazquez was arrested. The complaint was filed in 2018. The charges were the result of the suspect fraudulently receiving almost $6,000 in SNAP Benefits by concealing and failing to report her husband’s worker’s compensation income. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was released with an appearance ticket. She is due in court at a later date.
