No injuries were reported after a semi tractor-trailer struck a minivan being hauled by another vehicle late Wednesday. The New York State Police, along with Sherman volunteer firefighters, were called to the eastbound lane of Interstate 86 around 9:17 p.m. for the multi-vehicle crash. According to Capt. Eric Balon of the state police, a semi hauling 45,000 pounds of molded auto parts struck the van, being hauled by a 1999 Lincoln Towncar, that were also eastbound. The Lincoln and van were believed to be going about 35 to 40 mph on the interstate at the time of the crash. The vehicles and semi ended up in the median. Neither the driver of the semi, 53-year-old Douglas Adkins of Ohio, or the passenger vehicle, 43-year-old Michael Sebastiani of Great Valley, were injured. Ashville firefighters assisted in helping to close a portion of the interstate to remove the vehicles. The investigation was ongoing Thursday.
