Ripley man bites trooper, charged in disturbance

RIPLEY — A town man who bit a New York state trooper is facing a number of charges after an incident Friday.

State Police in Fredonia report Scott Walker, 41, was charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Troopers responded to a residence for a report of a domestic disturbance. An investigation revealed that Walker, in an intoxicated condition, threw items around the residence, causing damage to the drywall and the television screen. He was located at a nearby residence and while attempting to place him under arrest, Walker actively resisted and bit one of the troopers. Walker was taken into custody soon after, processed at Fredonia and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail. The trooper was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
