CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF

POLAND — At around 7:24 p.m. Saturday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 394 for an observed traffic violation. An investigation found that the operator, Timothy K Smith, 61, of Celoron, was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Smith was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a BAC of 0.08% of 1 or more, driving while intoxicated, and no/ inadequate headlamps. Smith was processed and released with appearance tickets. Smith will be in the town of Poland Court at a later date to answer to the charges.

FRENCH CREEK — Deputies responded to an address in the town of French Creek for a Feb. 28 criminal mischief complaint. Upon arrival it was alleged Corey P. Caron Jr, 24, of French Creek damaged property belonging to another individual.

After an investigation Caron was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief. He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Court on a later date.

NORTH HARMONY — Just after midnight Saturday, sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing it commit a traffic infraction. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Tracy L. Fardink of Ashville.

After an investigation, it is alleged that Fardink was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Fardink was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a BAC greater than 0.18% and failure to yield the right of way.

Fardink was processed and released with citations and is to be in town court at a later date.
