Injury reported in crash involving CARTS bus

BARCELONA — At least one person was injured Monday morning following a crash involving a CARTS bus.

The crash was reported shortly after 7 a.m. at Main Street and Route 5 in Barcelona. In addition to the Westfield Fire Department, Chautauqua County EMS also responded to the scene.

The collision involved a Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System bus and SUV, according to scanner reports. Only one ambulance was requested, and the person was reported to be stable.

¯ MAYVILLE — Brandon Murphy, 26, of Ripley, was charged with petit larceny. Murphy, who is incarcerated at the Chautauqua County Jail, was reportedly observed stealing jail property on security cameras and found in possession of the property. Chautauqua County Criminal Investigations division handled the case. Murphy was arraigned and remanded back to the jail.

¯ HANOVER — Christian Kahabka, 23, of South Dayton, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Kahabka was issued an appearance ticket Thursday following an investigation from an incident that occurred in January in the town of Hanover. He is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court later.
