Five charged in Cattaraugus County drug bust

MACHIAS — Five individuals are facing drug-related charges after the Southern Tier Drug Task Force assisted by the Cattaraugus County Patrol Division executed a search warrant at 3506 Roszyk Hill Road on Saturday morning.

Inside, officers found 1.25 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, suboxone, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia. Charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell were: Vincent Schaub, 25, of Arcade; Samuel McCaslin, 32 of Machias; Meghan Kulczyk, 23 of Franklinville; Brian McGonagle, 28 of Cherry Creek; and Brandon Bain, 23, of Cattaraugus.

McGonagle, who has a history of run-ins with the law, was taken to the Salamanca Police Department and being held on a bench warrant.

The four others were released and will answer the charges in town court at a later date. The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department, the Gowanda and Salamanca Police Departments and the New York State Police.

Chautauqua County Sheriff

HANOVER — A Dunkirk man has been charged in connection with a May 5 motor vehicle accident that damaged a retail store.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported Sunday that they responded around 8:55 p.m. to the Dollar General Store on Route 5. Upon arrival deputies located a vehicle that left the road and struck the storefront.

Deputies did locate the driver Randall L. Fancher, 64. After a brief investigation it was determined that Fancher was operating the vehicle while under the influence. Fancher was charged with DWI combination drugs and alcohol and transported to the sheriff’s office substation in Pomfret for processing. Fancher was later released with tickets to be in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN — At about 1:25 a.m. Saturday, sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle on East Second Street in the city of Jamestown operating without headlights. The operator was identified as Armando A. Williams and investigation found him to be intoxicated.

Williams was taken into custody and after processing he was released with traffic tickets. Williams will be in City of Jamestown Court at a later date to answer charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater and no/inadequate headlights.

HANOVER — At about 12:50 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle for an observed violation on Iola Drive. The vehicle operator was identified as Marissa J. Moquin, 25, of Irving. An investigation found that Moquin was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Moquin was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, having an uninspected motor vehicle, DWI, and aggravated DWI. She was released with traffic tickets and will be in town court later.

Dunkirk Police Department

¯ Steven Delgado, 30, of Dunkirk, was charged May 12 with second-degree aggravated harassment.

¯ Donna Ojeda, 50, of Dunkirk, was charged Monday with third-degree assault.

¯ Gianni Gates, 22, of Dunkirk, was charged Monday with grand larceny.

¯ Christopher Cancel, 24, of Dunkirk, was charged Monday with criminal obstruction of breathing, criminal trespass, unlawful fleeing a police officer, contempt, criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration.

¯ Megan Waterman, 39, of Dunkirk, was charged Thursday with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
