Jamestown man sentenced in December burglary case
JAMESTOWN — A Jamestown man charged in a December burglary incident was sentenced Monday to 2 1/2 to 5 years in prison.
The Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office said 30-year-old Mark E. Barnhart Jr. previously pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary. The city man had been facing a host of charges, including second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, petit larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Jamestown police had been called Dec. 13, 2020, to a reported burglary at a Winsor Street home. An investigation found that Barnhart allegedly stolen property from the residence and fled before officers arrived. Barnhart was located a short distance away with the property and taken into custody.
The Jamestown Police Department assisted in the investigation, the DA’s office said.
