Dunkirk man charged in shooting
A 24-year-old Dunkirk man has been charged in connection with a Thursday evening shooting incident.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. Dunkirk Police were called to the area of Lincoln Avenue to investigate possible shots fired. Upon arrival patrols spoke with several subject who stated that a vehicle approached a house on Lincoln Avenue and a rear seat passenger opened the window and shot multiple shots out of the vehicle at a subject and then sped away. No injuries were a result of the shots fired.
Through an investigation the vehicle plate and description, and suspected shooter was obtained. The vehicle was later found by Town of Evans Police Department after a short vehicle pursuit.
Suspected shooter, Jorge L. Ortiz-Reyes, was located in the vehicle and taken into custody without incident. Ortiz-Reyes was arraigned by Judge Kuzdale and held without bail. Incident was assisted by Seneca Nation Marshals, Town of Evens Police Department and New York State Police.
