FREDONIA POLICE

≤ Grace Smith, 20, of Silver Creek, was arrested Aug. 11 and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21 and an open container violation.

¯ Dylan Sugden, 28, of Fredonia, was arrested Aug. 11 and charged with criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment and criminal contempt.

¯ Timothy Kelley, 42, address unknown, was picked up on a bench warrant Aug. 12.

¯ Ruben Medina-Rivera, 19, of Fredonia, was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with felony criminal mischief, misdemeanor criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

¯ Jose Cardona, 59, of Fredonia, was arrested Aug. 20 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation.

¯ Thomas Petz, 40, of Dunkirk, was arrested Aug. 21 and charged with petit larceny.

¯ Joshua Russo, 20, of Fredonia, was arrested Aug. 22 and charged with underage possession of alcohol and an open container violation.

¯ Randy Draggett, 41, of Fredonia, was arrested Aug. 22 and charged with an open container violation.

¯ Monica Pacheco, 37, of Jamestown, was arrested Aug. 25 and charged with petit larceny.

¯ Steve Provorse, 27, of Portland, was arrested Aug. 25 and charged with petit larceny.

¯ Casey Crane, 28, of Dunkirk, was arrested Aug. 27 and charged with petit larceny.

¯ Sabrina Flores, 21, of Jamestown, was picked up on a bench warrant Aug. 30.

¯ Dylan Pieszak, 27, of Fredonia, was picked up on a bench warrant Aug. 30.

¯ Gary Ortolano, 59, of Dunkirk, was arrested Sept. 4 and charged with criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

¯ Brian Barone, 38, of Fredonia, was arrested Sept. 3 and charged with two counts of harassment.

¯ Nelson Irizarry, 31, of Dunkirk, was arrested Sept. 5 and charged with harassment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ SHERIDAN — Gregory S. Russell, 56, of Dunkirk, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, no stop lamps, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unlicensed operator. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 11:48 p.m. Sept. 3 in the town of Sheridan for an alleged traffic violation. It was found that Russell was allegedly operating the vehicle while in an intoxicated state. He was processed and released with tickets to appear in Sheridan Town Court later.

¯ FORESTVILLE — Madeleine M. Kingsfield, 30, of Forestville, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Deputies were called at 7:09 a.m. Wednesday to a reported disturbance on Rider Road in Forestville. It was learned that Kingsfield allegedly shoved a person and destroyed property. Kingsfield was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

≤ No one was injured when a boat caught fire Monday evening.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said its marine division was alerted to the fire around 6:30 p.m. on Chautauqua Lake in the vicinity of Vukote in the town of Busti. Deputies helped the operator extinguish the fire, located in the engine compartment of the vessel.

“Deputies assisted in removing the occupants from the burning vessel onto the sheriff’s vessel, including two young children,” the department said in a news release. “The passengers were transported to shore. There were no injuries.”

Members of the Lakewood and Bemus Point fire departments also responded to the lake.

Around 11:40 a.m. on Monday, the marine unit responded to a minor boat accident on the lake at Long Point State Park. It was learned that a pontoon boat had struck the pier, causing one person to be thrown from the vessel onto the pier.

The Bemus Point Fire Department assisted at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.

GOWANDA POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Nicholas Faraci, 33 of Lakeshore Road in Angola, was charged with a seat belt violation and a warrant arrest on Aug. 25. At just after 10:30 a.m., Faraci was stopped by patrol for operating a vehicle without wearing his seatbelt. During the stop, patrol was notified that Faraci had two active warrants for his arrest issued by the town of Evans Court. Faraci was released on an appearance ticket for his seat belt violation and was turned over to Evans police to process their warrant.

¯ Joslyn Fagnan, 26 of Lackawanna, was charged with a cell phone violation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Aug. 29 on Buffalo Street. Fagnan was stopped by patrol for operating a vehicle while using her cell phone. During this stop, a computer check revealed that Fagnan’s license was suspended twice on Aug. 24, 2019 for failing to answer two traffic summonses in the town of Hamburg Court. Fagnan was arrested on these charges and released on an appearance ticket to appear in Collins Town Court.

¯ Matthew Mescall, 40 of Collins, was taken into custody on an warrant arrest Aug. 28. Before 2 p.m. on that day, patrol encountered Mescall on Aldrich Street. During the encounter, patrol was notified of an active warrant for Mescall’s arrest issued by the Erie County Department of Probation. Mescall was arrested on this warrant and was turned over to the Erie County Sheriff.

¯ Christina Lemk, 32 of Gowanda, was charged with petit larceny on Aug. 31. Just after 7 p.m., patrol was notified of a larceny from a Mechanic Street home. Patrol was informed that Lemk had been a tenant at the residence, however Lemk had moved out of the apartment. When Lemk moved, she had stolen the fridge owned by the landlord and sold it to another person stating it was hers. Lemk was located by patrol and was arrested for petit larceny. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in Collins Town Court, while the fridge was returned to the landlord by the person that bought it.
