3 charged with child porn possession

Three Chautauqua County men have been charged with possessing child pornography in recent weeks, the New York State Police at Jamestown reported Wednesday.

¯ On Sept. 24, Amos Wright, 42, of Jamestown, was charged with 15 counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child. State Police investigators received information that child pornography had been uploaded to an IP address belonging to Wright.

A search warrant was executed at Wright’s residence resulting in the seizure of electronic devices. An analysis by the New York State Computer Crime Unit of the electronics revealed thousands of images and videos of child pornography. Wright was arrested at Jamestown barracks, processed and issued appearance tickets. Wright is scheduled to appear in the city of Jamestown Court on a later date.

¯ On Oct. 12, Kevin Caffoe, 53, of Jamestown, was charged with eight counts possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.

Investigators received a referral that Caffoe had uploaded child pornography to his Skype account. A search warrant was obtained and executed at Caffoe’s Jamestown residence.

Several items of evidence were seized and reviewed by members of the New York State Police Computer Crime Unit. Their analysis revealed eight images of child pornography and messages where Caffoe was discussing an underage female. Caffoe was arrested at Jamestown barracks, processed, and issued appearance tickets.

Caffoe is scheduled to appear in the city of Jamestown Court on a later date.

¯ Joseph Campbell, 43, of Dunkirk, was charged with 10 counts of possessing obscene sexual performance by a child.

Police received information that child pornography had been uploaded using an IP address and account that were later determined to be Campbell’s. A search warrant was executed at Campbell’s residence where several items of evidence were seized.

An analysis of the items by the New York State Computer Crime Unit revealed hundreds of images and videos of child pornography. After an arrest warrant was issued, Campbell was located in Jamestown and placed under arrest. Campbell was then processed at Jamestown barracks and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.
