CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ STOCKTON — Timothy M. Schrader, 35, of Brocton, was charged with third-degree auto stripping, tresspass and two counts each of fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. Schrader was taken into custody following an investigation conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division into a larceny on Route 380 in Stockton. Schrader reportedly trespassed and stole a piece of copper tubing that was attached to the house and cut off a catalytic converter from a car that was parked in the driveway. A warrant was obtained and Schrader was picked up without incident at his residence. He was arraigned and then released under his own recognizance.

¯ KIANTONE — The local chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting after a fire broke out at a town of Kiantone residence around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Firefighters from several departments, including Kiantone, Busti and Jamestown, were alerted to the fire at 1758 High St. An investigation by members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office determined the fire originated inside the refrigerator and spread throughout the kitchen. No one was home when the fire broke out; no injuries were reported, though a domestic animal died, the Sheriff’s Office said.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

COLDEN — A Dayton man has been charged after an altercation on Partridge Road.

State Police at Boston charged Jon M. Hillebert, 42, with third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment on April 14.

Troopers said Hillebert had recklessly caused damage to a vehicle when a verbal argument turned physical. Hillebert was issued an appearance ticket for the town of Colden court, where he is due to appear at a later date. An order of protection was issued to the victim.
