North Collins bank robbery being investigated

NORTH COLLINS — The robbery of the village Community Bank branch is being investigated by the Erie County Sheriff’s Department. The robbery occurred at approximately 11:18 a.m. Tuesday.

Initial reports are a black male, approximately 6 feet tall with short hair and a thin build, entered the bank and presented a teller a note demanding they empty the teller’s cash drawer.

The subject left the bank and got into a waiting vehicle. The vehicle is a newer silver sedan with no front license plate. The male was wearing a blue surgical mask, ripped jeans with exposed red underwear, and white sneakers

Area schools did implement lockdown procedures during the incident, and school administrators will make the determination to lift the procedures.
