CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ HANOVER — Douglas C. Tyma, 33, of South Dayton was charged with driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and moving from lane unsafely at 8 a.m. Sunday after deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident. Tyma will be in Hanover Town Court later.

¯ ASHVILLE — Nicole M. Klinger, 40, of Brocton was charged with DWI and DWI per se having a .08% or higher blood-alcohol content at 4:54 a.m. Sunday on North Maple Avenue, Ashville. Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on North Maple Avenue, Ashville. Klinger was allegedly found laying on the ground near the vehicle and had allegedly been intoxicated while driving. She will be in North Harmony Town Court later.

¯ MAYVILLE — Winfred B Clark, 46, of Mayville was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to deputies, Clark was being held at the county jail on unrelated charges. On Monday he was being escorted within the facility following an appointment when she allegedly proceeded to grab and propel a wall mounted TV to the floor. The TV was damaged beyond repair. He was charged and held for arraignment.

GOWANDA POLICE

¯ GOWANDA — On July 26 at 6:53 p.m., police stopped a vehicle for allegedly spinning its tires, producing excessive smoke from its diesel vehicle and weaving over a solid yellow line. Police also said the driver, Travis E. Wright, 40, of Gowanda, was then found with an open can of beer next to him in the vehicle.

It was also discovered that Wright had his license revoked on Feb. 18, 2020, for driving while intoxicated and that he did not have a driver’s license at the time of the traffic stop. During the stop, Wright allegedly displayed signs of intoxication and failed multiple sobriety checks.

Wright was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation and for an open container in his vehicle. He was also charged with an unsafe start, excessive smoke from his vehicle and failure to keep right. He was released and will be in town of Persia Court later.

¯ GOWANDA — On July 21 at 1:58 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Chestnut Street. Patrol was informed that Christina M. Smith, 49, of Gowanda, was involved in an altercation with a male acquaintance. Smith then allegedly entered the room of a 12-year-old male and struck him several times in the facial area. The alleged incident caused minor injuries. She was charged with child endangerment and will be in town of Persia Court later.
