ATV driver facing charges
after pursuit in city
A Dunkirk man is facing numerous charges after driving an all-terrain vehicle on city streets and not complying with a traffic stop.
Dunkirk Police said Sunday night that Abimael Muniz-Gonzalez, 40, was charged last week with failure to comply with comply witha lawful order, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper or unsafe turn without a signal, having an unregistered ATV, being an unlicensed operator and having no helmet. Police had been checking the area for reports of ATVs and dirt bikes operating on city streets before Muniz-Gonzalez was charged.
Around 7 p.m., patrol observed an ATV operating on Maple Avenue near West Courtney Street. When the operator failed to comply with a traffic stop, a short pursuit began.
An officer then observed the ATV stall on Main Street near East Ninth Street with Muniz-Gonzalez failing to restart the vehicle. Officers then detained Muniz-Gonzalez, who was issued the tickets.

A city of Dunkirk resident faces rape charges.
Christian Arroyo, 29, was arrested Aug 5, according to the Dunkirk Police Department’s latest log of arrests.
Besides the first-degree rape charge, Arroyo also was charged with second-degree menacing, forcible touching, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.
The Dunkirk police released no further information on the case.

ELLERY — At about 4 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on Route 430 for a disorderly subject. Through further investigation, it was found that Tabitha J. Dellahoy, 34, of Bemus Point did threaten physical harm to an individual with a baseball bat. Dellahoy was issued an appearance ticket for second-degree menacing and will be in town court at a later date.
