Two charged in Mayville drug activity

MAYVILLE — A two-month investigation into narcotics sales at a residence at 107 Valley St. has led to the arrest of two individuals.

On Wednesday, narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department and the Jamestown Police Department along with Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Jamestown Police Department K-9 executed a search warrant at the location. Inside the residence at the time of the warrant execution was 47-year-old Jenell Long, 33-year-old James Mawhir, 35-year-old Casey Monroe and 29-year-old Samantha Green. As a result of the search, investigators found a quantity of fentanyl, Oxycodone, Alprazolam, Clonazepam, scales and packaging material for narcotics sales and currency.

Long and Mawhir were charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
