KITCHEN FIRE SPARKS RESPONSE

FORESTVILLE — North county crews were called out to a kitchen fire at the Forestville Baptist Church at 5 Prospect St.

While the fire was doused quickly, smoke was reported at the scene around 10 a.m. Sunday. Departments from Hanover Center, Forestville , Sunset Bay, county Emergency Services responded. Crews were back in service two hours later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— At around 6 p.m. Saturday, Jamestown police responded to an address on the east side of the city for a warrant check. Through an investigation it was determined that Curtis G. Snyder of the city did give officers a false name and date of birth in an attempt to avoid arrest. Snyder had a valid parole warrant out of Pennsylvania.

He was taken into custody without incident and was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation and being a fugitive from justice. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.

— Around midnight Friday, the Jamestown Police Department DWI Unit was patrolling the area of Prather Ave and Prospect Street when they observed a female slumped over the wheel with the vehicle running.

Officers checked on the driver’s well being and were able to determine that Victoria A. Cummings, 42, of Jamestown, was driving under the influence of drugs.

She was transported to the city jail for processing where she was booked and issued an appearance ticket.
