CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

¯ SILVER CREEK — Deputies responded to a residence Jan. 26 for a report of a suspicious situation. Upon arrival, a handgun was located and found to be possessed by Christian A. Cruz, 18, of Dunkirk. Through investigation it was determined that Cruz was not legally able to possess the firearm.

On Monday, he was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will be in the Town of Hanover Court later.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — At about 8:41 p.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on Hannum Road in the Town of Chautauqua for a report of a disorderly subject. Through further investigation, it was found that Jackson W. Nolleth, 38, of Mayville, damaged property of another. Nolleth was taken into custody and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned on the charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
