CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Mark J. Stevens, 59, of Mayville was charged March 11 with driving while intoxicated and improper or unsafe turn without a signal. Deputies said around 8 p.m. Stevens was pulled over on West Lake Road in the town of Chautauqua for a traffic violation and charged him following an investigation. He will answer to the charge in Chautauqua Town Court.

¯ BEMUS POINT — Around 8:20 p.m. March 10, deputies responded to an address on Pine Street for a fight. Through an investigation it was found that several subjects were involved in an altercation, in which a subject was struck as well as threatened with a baseball bat. Both Jeffery Martinelli, 38, of Bemus Point and Landin Martinelli, 18, of Jamestown were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and Johnathan Martinelli, 30, of Bemus Point was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree menacing. All three were issuedtickets and will be in town of Ellery court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT

Matthew Kennedy, 31, of Angola, was sentenced Wednesday by Judge David W. Foley to an indeterminate state prison term of 2 and 1/3 years to 7 years after he was convicted of third-degree burglary, a class D felony. According to District Attorney Jason Schmidt, Kennedy was charged with second-degree burglary after he broke in to a house in the town of Villenova and causing substantial damage to the victims’ home in May 2022. Kennedy took a plea to the lesser burglary charge on Dec. 13. Schmidt would like to thank the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office for their hard work on this case and assisting his office in the prosecution.
