JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Tyree L. Holland, 26, no address listed, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers stopped a vehicle at 12:13 a.m. Wednesday in the area of 518 N. Main St. for a traffic infraction. An investigation determined that Holland was in violation of a stay away order of protection issued by Jamestown City Court to stay away from a female inside the vehicle. Holland was held pending arraignment in court.
¯ Faye E. Wolbert, 40, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Walter L. Whitfield, 46, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Officers stopped a vehicle at 8:39 p.m. Tuesday in the area of East Sixth and Fulton streets for a traffic violation. An investigation determined that Faye was allegedly in possession of 5.5 grams of methamphetamine. During a search of the vehicle, officers also located a switchblade knife. Both were transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
¯ Two kayakers are uninjured after averting a possible lake emergency on Tuesday. Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies report at about 4:10 p.m., they received a call about two kayakers in distress off of the Cedar Cliffs on Lake Erie in the town of Dunkirk.
It was reported that one of the two kayaks was overturned and in the water. Deputies responded to the scene and were able to recover both of the kayakers from the water. There were no injuries to either of the kayakers and they were returned safely to shore.
¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Deputies responded to an address for an unwanted phone calls complaint. Upon investigation, It was determined that Joseph A. Blachowski, 63, of Corry, Pa., had made threatening statements to another individual. He was found a little while later and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment and will return to town of Chautauqua Court later.
