CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ NEW ALBION — Draven G. Vanevery, 24, of Irving, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test and no/inadequate headlights. Vanevery was taken into custody Saturday after a traffic stop on South Main Street in New Albion. Vanevery is scheduled to appear in court later.
¯ Jospeh C. Gierszewski, 29, of South Dayton, was taken into custody on a petit larceny complaint from June 28. Gierszewski was processed and released with a ticket to appear in court later.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ BEMUS POINT — Savon Nagel-Vansickle, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speed in zone. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 1:22 a.m. Saturday on Route 430 in Bemus Point. An investigation found that Nagel-Vansickle was allegedly driving while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in court later.
¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Bradley T. Farrar, 22, of Westfield, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies responded at 11:25 p.m. Saturday to a crash on Route 430 in the town of Chautauqua. The driver was identified as Farrar, who was allegedly found to be intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Devon L. Wilson, 29, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree attempted robbery, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree conspiracy, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of second-degree menacing. Kaleb D. Dean, 20, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree conspiracy. Officers responded at 12:51 a.m. Monday to a report of a person with a weapon on the north side of the city. Upon arrival, officers were advised that Wilson was one of the suspects and that he had fled the area. The other suspect, identified as Dean, was still on the scene. An investigation determined that Wilson and Dean unlawfully entered a residence with the intent to commit a crime. Wilson possessed a rifle and a knife that he used to threaten the lives of multiple victims within the residence. Wilson also attempted to forcibly take property of one of the victims while he displayed the weapons, but was unsuccessful. Wilson was later taken into custody and was still in possession of the knife that he used during the incident. Both were transported to jail without incident and held pending arraignment.
¯ Jakiera Wright, 19, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Robert Gilbert, 22, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense. Officers responded at 6 p.m. Sunday to the north side of the city for a well-being check. As officers walked up the stairs of an apartment building, officers observed Wright and Gilbert together and both who had stay away orders of protection against each other. Both were transported to jail and held for arraignment.
¯ Michael E. Hitchcock, 43, of Jamestown, was charged with three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, 11 counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Police executed a search warrant Thursday at 76 Victoria Ave. as part of an ongoing investigation. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of firearms, drugs and paraphernalia. Hitchcock was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment in court. The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
