Dunkirk man charged in narcotics possession

A third person in two days has been charged in connection with drug sales in the Dunkirk-Fredonia area.

A lengthy investigation into narcotics sales in the city of Dunkirk concluded with the execution of two search warrants on Wednesday. Narcotics investigators and officers from the Dunkirk Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the store located at 102 E. Second St. at 10:25 a.m.

Shortly after that, an additional search warrant was executed at 142 Lincoln Ave. Apt. 1 in the city. As a result of the two searches, investigators seized 14.16 grams of cocaine, 9.04 grams of crack cocaine, scales and packaging material for the distribution of narcotics, and $2,677 in currency. Devan A. Fernandez was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Fernandez was transported to Dunkirk Police Department where he was to be arraigned in the city of Dunkirk Court.

A pair of individuals were charged after warrants were served on Washington Avenue in Dunkirk and Main Street in Fredonia on Tuesday.
