CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— STOCKTON — A Fredonia man is facing charges after a motor-vehicle accident early Saturday.

At 12:30 a.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 380. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Joseph A. Kucmierz, 62. Further investigation found Kucmierz to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and released with tickets to appear in the Town of Stockton Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— A pair of Mayville residents are facing drug charges after an incident Friday night in the city.

James D. Mawhir, 34, and Jenell L. Long, 47, are facing three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Just before 8 p.m., officers observed Mawhir in the passenger seat of a vehicle entering the city. Officers had prior knowledge of Mawhir having an outstanding felony arrest warrant from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department. Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and made contact with Mawhir and Long.

In a search incident, officers located a quantity of methamphetamine on Mawhir and inside the vehicle. Officers continued to search the vehicle and determined that Mawhir was in possession of a digital scale and packaging material commonly used for controlled substances. Officers also located a container of fentanyl and buprenorphine/naloxone.

Both subjects were transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

— Bruce A. Crawford Jr., 35, of Jamestown, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and passing a steady red signal. At 12:42 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on West Sixth Street for failing to stop at a red light. Through investigation it was determined that Crawford was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was taken into custody where he was processed at the Jamestown City Jail and was released with traffic tickets.

— A pair of city women are facing charges after a domestic incident on Saturday night. Kerri R. Finch Tidd, 29, and Barbara J. Baker, 52, are facing first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree criminal contempt charges.

At about 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a South Side address for a dispute. Officers located the women at the scene. Through an investigation, it was

discovered that both had gone to the residences of the other despite Stay Away Orders of Protection, against each other. Both were held pending arraignment in the City Court.
