CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— CHAUTAUQUA — Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Friday morning. The operator failed to comply and fled the area.
A short time later the vehicle was found inoperable and abandoned. At about 8:15 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to Route 430 in Dewittville for a suspicious male. The male identified himself as Samuel A Hernandez Garcia, 23, of Elyria Ohio.
While speaking with Hernandez Garcia he did attempt to flee the area on foot. After a foot pursuit, Hernandez Garcia was arrested. A follow-up investigation found Hernandez Garcia to have and extraditable warrant in Connecticut for third-degree assaul. Hernandez Garcia was charged with resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, failure to comply, reckless driving, unlicensed operator and fugitive from justice. He was brought to centralized arraignment at the Chautauqua County Jail.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Joseph B. Trippe, 23, of Jamestown was arrested and charged with petit larceny and resisting arrest following an incident which took place Thursday afternoon.
At 2:15 p.m. officers were called to the area of Brooklyn Square for a shoplifting complaint. The business reported that a white male stole two cases of beer and left the area. Officers, along with a member of the detective unit, were able to locate the male walking on Forest Avenue, carrying two cases of beer. Trippe then dropped the beer and ran south of Forest Avenue, to elude officers. Trippe was then taken into custody and transported to the city jail pending arraignment.
— Judd M. Hamilton, 55, of Jamestown was arrested and charged with third-degree and fourth-degree possession of a controlled substance following an incident which took place Sunday morning.
At 1:57 a.m. officers and a K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on Baker Street near Williams Street. During the stop officers allege that Hamilton was in possession of approximately one ounce of methamphetamine and a quantity of U.S. currency which is alleged to be proceeds from the sale of illicit substances. Hamilton was transported to the city jail and will be in court at a later date.
— Lisa M. Tibbetts, 47, of Jamestown was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of property following an incident which took place on Wednesday.
At 4:06 p.m. officers located Tibbetts who had confirmed outstanding warrants from the Jamestown Police Department. Tibbetts was taken into custody for the warrants and was searched. Officers report that they located a debit/credit on Lisa that did not belong to her. Officers responded to an address on the north side of the city for a report of a larceny of a debt/credit card shortly after.
Officers allege that Tibbetts stole the debit card from the victim moments before she was arrested for her outstanding warrants. Tibbetts was taken to the city jail and held pending arraignment.
— Kenneth R Distrola Jr., 47, of Lakewood was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operator and no distinctive plate following an incident which took place Friday morning.
At 1:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at West Third and Lafayette streets for an alleged observed traffic violation. During the stop officers reported that Distrola was allegedly intoxicated and was taken into custody. Officers also reported that Distrola’s driving privileges had been revoked. Distrola was transported to the city jail and will be in court at a later date.
