Two Jamestown residents face charges after police conducted a well-being check on two children on Jamestown’s west side Monday evening and found the home in deplorable condition.
According to a police report, Abigail Thompson, 22, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child while Austin Wynn, 24, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Both were also charged with quality of life city code violation for the amount of human and animal feces inside the apartment that police officers say contributed to extremely unsanitary conditions for surrounding apartments.
Officers responded to the home after a well being check on two children was requested. Officers arrived to find Thompson in the home even though there was a valid stay away order of protection for the three other people in the home at the time. She was charged with criminal contempt. Officers then noted the apartment was not suitable for children, leading to further charges.
Wynn and Thompson were taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they could be arraigned.
