CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— SILVER CREEK — A man who threatened others with a knife is facing charges.
Around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department patrol responded to a report of a disorderly subject in the road.
Upon arrival, deputies located Joshua D. Adams, 33, of Silver Creek being disorderly. Following an investigation it was determined that Adams had engaged in a physical altercation with others, which resulted in him retreating from the area and arming himself with a knife.
Upon his return, he then raised the knife and threatened the lives of the individuals at that location. He was taken into custody without incident and will be in the Town of Hanover court at a later date.
— FRENCH CREEK — Around 9:41 p.m. Thursday, deputies conducted a traffic stop. The operator, Donald M. Miller III, 33, of Clymer, was found to be driving with a suspended registration and through further investigation was found to be driving while intoxicated. He was placed in custody and released to be in court later.
— CHAUTAUQUA — Around 2:12 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 430. The operator was identified as Nicholas J. Alday, 30, of Clymer. Alday was transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital to be evaluated. Further investigation found Alday to be charged with DWI and moving from lane unsafely. He will answer his charges in the Town of Chautauqua Court later.
— PORTLAND — Around 9:07 p.m. Thursday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bliss Road. The operator was identified as Allison L. Smith, 31, of Jamestown. She was charged with DWI, DWI per se, and moving from lane unsafely. She will be in town court later.
— CASSADAGA — Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies conducted an investigation into an altercation that took place between two individuals on Frisbee Road. The two subjects were interviewed, and the male was identified as 27-year-old Jacob Aronica of Lackawanna. It was discovered that there was an active stay away order of protection between the two parties protecting the other individual from any contact with Aronica.
Aronica was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. He was later booked into the county jail to await arraignment.
— Around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were checking a suspicious vehicle on the shoulder of the highway where the occupants were having an altercation. Upon further investigation, the operator of the vehicle, Aimee E. White, 25, of Depew was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated.
White was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and operating above 0.08 BAC. White will be in the town court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Matthew A. Haskins, 26, of Jamestown, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and resisting arrest after an incident at 9:51 a.m. Sunday.
Officers responded to the Westside of the city for a larceny in progress. It was reported to officers a white male had stolen a mountain bike off the porch of the residence and fled the scene.
Officers were provided a description of the male from a Ring security camera that was on the residence. The male was identified as Haskins.
He was located a short time later on North Main Street near the viaduct. He attempted to flee from officers but was quickly apprehended. He was transported to city jail where he was held pending arraignment.
The owner of the bike recovered his property from officers.
— Jeremy M. Ramsey, 45, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt.
At 6:18 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a westside address for a report of a male violating an order of protection.
After investigation it was found that Ramsey was in direct violation of the order to stay away from the female victim that was issued just five days ago. He was taken into custody and was transported to Jamestown City Jail where he was held pending arraignment.
– Jamestown resident Sienna M. Swanson, 31, was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
At 2:27 a.m. Thursday, officers observed a vehicle traveling on the North Main Street corridor without lights. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at West 10th Street and found that the sole occupant and operator of the vehicle was Swanson.
It was determined that Swanson was operating the motor vehicle with her license being suspended 26 times stemming from 10 different incidents where she received uniform traffic tickets that were not answered.
Due to the suspended license and large number of individual suspensions, Swanson was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. She was booked and released due to bail reform.
