Grape ‘blessing’
set for Saturday
SILVER CREEK — In conjunction with Silver Creek’s Festival of Grapes, the seventh annual “Blessing of the Grapes” Mass will take place Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Central Avenue.
Father Dan Fiebelkorn will bless baskets of grapes grown this season by members of The Lord’s Vineyard family of parishes. He will lead a prayer of gratitude for the harvest and for the safety of the growers and all workers during harvest.
This Mass is in memory of members of our local grape growing community who have passed away in the last year. They include: William Fitzgibbons Sr., Joseph A. Falcone, John Przytula, Marc Kapple, Pauline Hardenburg, Kenneth Lee, Shirley Estee, Bruce Crowe, Beula Einhouse, Ernest Rammelt, Catherine Reilly, Joseph Valvo Jr., Mary Lou Vercant, Donald Haskin Jr., Luther Albrecht, Lois “Corky” DeGolier, Charles Dankert, Stewart “Pete” Christy, Sarah Lesch, Sanders “Sandy” Grant, and Lawrence McGuinn.
Special meeting
planned for Hanover
SILVER CREEK — Town Board will be holding a special meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, at the Town Hall, 68 Hanover St. to discuss and take action on the Routes 5 and 20 waterline project and any other matter that may come before the board at that time.
Zentangle class
planned for Monday
SINCLAIRVILLE — Basic Zentangle class with Brenda Nickerson will be offered at the Sinclairville Free Library on Monday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All materials will be provided for participants to learn the Zentangle Method of drawing. This is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns called tangles.
The class is for both beginners and those who are already familiar with the drawing method. The library is located at 15 Main St., and information about upcoming events is available on the website www.sinclairvillelibrary.org.
