JAMESTOWN POLICE

– Chelline M. Occhipinti, 42, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday after officers responded to 108 E. Third St. for a reported larceny. Occhipinti allegedly concealed store merchandise in an attempt to steal it. She was charged, taken to the city jail briefly and released with an appearance ticket. Occhipinti was then charged again at 8:05 a.m. Thursday with second-degree criminal trespass after officers responded to a reported burglary at a north side address. Officers report seeing a woman getting out of a boarded up window of a condemned house next door and identified the woman as Occhipinti, this time identified as homeless in a police report. She was taken to the city jail until she could be arraigned.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE

– Dale R. Linkous, 27, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny and resisting arrest at 6:30 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to the Lakewood Walmart for a reported shoplifting in progress. According to a police report, Linkous allegedly tried to run from officers. He was charged and taken to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department to be processed, where officers found Linkous had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. Linkous was turned over to deputies to answer the warrant and will be in Busti Town Court later.

– Ailyah L. Maher, 18, of Busti was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree assault at 11:20 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to a Big Tree Road address for an alleged assault. Maher allegedly assaulted another person and broke property belonging to the person. She was charged and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

– Andrzej D. Leszczak, 43, of Broadview, Ohio, was charged with third-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief at 7:58 p.m. Thursday after deputies responded to a call of an altercation between two males in Ellery. Leszczak allegedly menaced and threatened harm toward another person as well as damaged property. Leszczak was issued an appearance ticket to be in Ellery Town Court later.

– Busti firefighters responded to a camper fire on Southwestern Drive in Busti at 2:12 p.m. Thursday. After extinguishing the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Investigators determined the fire originated on a stove top within the camper and was caused by an unattended stove top burner. The fire was ruled as accidental.
