CHERRY CREEK CAR FIRES BEING PROBED

CHERRY CREEK — At 6:09 a.m. Sunday, the Cherry Creek Fire Department responded to Dredge Ditch Road in the Town of Cherry Creek for a reported vehicle fire. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. Through investigation it was determined that two unoccupied vehicles were intentionally set on fire.

At this time the fire is being ruled as incendiary in nature and the investigation is on-going. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Jamestown Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office K9 Division, and the Cherry Creek Fire Department.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— CHAUTAUQUA — A town resident is facing charges after shooting a firearm within 500 feet of a residence.

At around 11:34 a.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a person with a weapon complaint at Centralia-Hartfield Road. Through an investigation it was found that 33-year-old Gabriel J Seyler was allegedly responsible.

Seyler received a ticket to be in the Town of Chautauqua Court later.

— BEMUS POINT — At around 2:09 a.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the village. The operator was identified as Sienna M. Swanson, 31. Further investigation found Swanson to be driving while intoxicated. She was charged with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and speed in zone. She will be in town of Ellery Court later.

— GERRY — At 7:42 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash. After an investigation, Gary W Chuzie, 57, of Youngsville, Pa., was charged with DWI, DWI per se, following too closely and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Chuzie was released with traffic tickets to be in the Town of Gerry Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– A pair of city residents are facing charges after they and three children were found living in “deplorable conditions.”

At 9:17 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a residence on the West side of the city to assist with Child Protective Services and the Department and Development. On location, the agencies entered the house and spoke to Max Hubbard, 27, and Breanne Fuller, 24, who had three children in the house: a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 1-year-old.

Officers observed the conditions of the house to be unsafe for the children to be living at this residence. The Department of Development condemned the house, CPS took the children and mother, and Hubbard were taken into custody on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree criminal contempt due to the children being protected parties with a restraining order against both parents from a similar incident that occurred last summer. Fuller will be charged at a later date for the same charges. Hubbard was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.

— Raymond Johnson, 54, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Before noon Saturday, officers were dispatched to CVS located at 19 S.Main St. for a disorderly person. Officers arrived on location and spoke to employees who stated a male came into the store, began yelling and throwing items and also threatened one of the employees.

With the description given to Patrol Officers, the male was located behind another business in the area and was identified as Johnson. He was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.
