FIRE IN KITCHEN

Both Dunkirk and Fredonia Fire Departments responded to a fire in the city before noon. According to scanner reports, the blaze was electrical and in the kitchen at 303 Lake Shore Drive and was called in around 11:45 a.m. Sunday.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Lawrence A Gibbons, 48, was charged with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

At 11:16 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 19 S. Main St. at CVS for a past tense larceny. Through investigation, it was determined that Gibbons, a Jamestown resident, stole items from the store and damaged property before exiting.

Officers located Gibbons nearby and placed him into custody. He was released and will be in court later.
