CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— SHERMAN — An altercation Saturday morning led to charges against a village resident. Around 6 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the village. All parties involved were interviewed and it was reported that a male subject had fled the area in the complainant’s vehicle. That subject returned and was identified as Alec C. Blose, 30. An investigation led to Blose being charged with driving while intoxicated and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or greater. He was released and will return later for town court.

— BROCTON — At 6:06 p.m. Friday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an address on Lake Avenue for a reported altercation. Upon arrival deputies learned the subject involved, 37-year-old Jake Test had fled prior to arrival.

After an investigation, deputies were able to locate Test at another nearby residence and took him into custody without issue. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for arraignment and will answer the charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree harassment in the Town of Portland later.

— FREWSBURG — A Jamestown man has been charged in a June incident. Deputies reported Saturday that around 9:46 p.m. June 2, they responded to check the well being of a subject in a motor vehicle. Upon investigation it was found that Christopher Cassel, 51, was operating the motor vehicle while under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol. He will be in Carroll Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Richard C, Neal, 40, of Jamestown was charged with public lewdness. At about 12:32 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a north side business for a disorderly male. After making contact with the victim it was discovered that Neal exposed his buttocks to the victim. Neal was taken into custody and arraigned in Jamestown City Court.

— Tiffany E. Manelick, 34, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to an address on the north side of Jamestown. On arrival officers learned that Manelick struck a male in the course of a domestic incident. Manelick was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail and was being held pending arraignment in the Jamestown City Court.

— Adam L. Somnitz, 32, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At about 12:20 p.m. Saturday, officers located a male laying on the ground on the south side of the city between houses. The male was identified as Somnitz. Through further investigation he was found to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl. He was later released and will return to city court later.
