CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— An inmate has been charged after an investigation into a physical altercation with an employee with the Chautauqua County Jail.

The Criminal Investigation Division of Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department determined that Lawrence A. Gibbons, 48, of Jamestown, struck a correction officer in the face and jaw. Gibbons was charged with second-degree assault and appeared for the Centralized Arraignment Process.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

— At about 3 p.m. Monday, the Westfield Police Department responded to Tops Market for a report that there was a female inside who was panhandling and refusing to leave the store. After officers arrived on scene, the store management requested the female be removed from the property and advised that she is no longer welcome to shop there.

When officers approached the female, she became irate and refused to provide any information about herself or cooperate with the investigation. Sky J. Cachot was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Due to bail reform, Catchot was issued a ticket and released. She will be in Town of Westfield Court at a later time.
