DUNKIRK MAN
CHARGED IN STABBING
A Dunkirk man is facing second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon charges after a stabbing last week on Franklin Avenue.
Dunkirk Police report around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, they received a tip that a male was stabbed. Officers made contact with the victim and after a short investigation it was determined the victim was stabbed once by Christian J. Rodriguez-Pagan over a verbal argument.
Officers located Rodriguez-Pagan, 35, at his house where he was taken into custody without issue. He was transported to Dunkirk Police Headquarters and for arraignment.

LEAD TO CHARGES
A Dunkirk man was charged after threatening residents with a garden tool on Main Street last week.
Dunkirk police report Anselmo Mejia-Urjuan, 55, was charged with menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal impersonation of another.
Police received the call around 6:42 p.m. Thursday. A description was given over the phone and relayed to responding officers. The male was located a short distance away and detained.
Officers then made contact with the victim. The male was unwanted at the residence and when confronted he pulled a pair of sharp garden shears and threatened to kill the victim.
He then left the residence and was located by officers. The male tried to pass his identity as someone else. He provided an ID that was clearly not him to officers. He later admitted he lied and admitted his real name as Mejia-Urjuan. He was released and will answer charges later in city court.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Kasey L Rothwell, 46, of North East, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated and inadequate lights. At around 8:22 p.m. Saturday, the Westfield Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Route 5 in the town and having no headlights on. Officers conducted an investigation on the operator of the vehicle. It was determined that the operator, Rothwell, was under the influence of alcohol. She will answer for her charges at the Town of Westfield Court, at a later date and time.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
— BEMUS POINT – Peter A. Clements, 27, of Hamilton, Ohio was charged Sunday with criminal possession of a firearm. Clements was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Main Street around 10 a.m. He was charged following an investigation. Clements was processed and released with appearance tickets. He is scheduled to return to the Ellery Town Court at a later date.
