JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
— Zachary A. Hernandez, 32, of Lakewood, was charged with riding a bicycle on a city sidewalk and resisting arrest.
At about 1:13 p.m. Saturday, officers attempted to stop Hernandez for a local city code violation in the area of Mckinley Avenue at Park Street. Hernandez failed to comply with officers’ verbal commands to stop and fled on his bicycle. He was taken into custody shortly after in front of Forest Avenue at Warner Place. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail on his outstanding Bench warrants.
— Damion L. Carlson, 26, was picked up on an arrest warrant and a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
At approximately 4:14 a.m. Saturday, officers conducted a street check of Carlson who had an active arrest warrant from the City of Jamestown. Carlson was placed into custody, and a search of his property found that Carlson was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Carlson was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was held pending arraignment.
— Jaysen Galarza-Santos, 36, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree, fourth-degree and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
At 9:02 a.m. Aug. 25,officers observed Galarza-Santos standing at Newland and Forest avenues. Officers had prior knowledge that Galarza-Santos had a valid warrant out of Lakewood-Busti Police Department. He was then taken into custody and was found to be in possession of illegal drugs. He was also held on a detainer for the warrant out of Lakewood Busti Police.
— Matthew J. Sedlmayer, 26, of Jamestown, was charged with third-degree assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and aggravated criminal contempt.
Officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a westside address at 6:50 p.m. Friday. During the investigation, it was determined that Sedlmayer repeatedly punched a victim in the face in the presence of three minors under the age of 16.
It was also established that there was a refrain from order of protection in place between Sedlmayer and the victim. When the officers attempted to take Sedlmayer into custody, a brief struggle ensued before he was ultimately taken into custody. During this altercation, Sedlmayer caused damage to property belonging to the Jamestown Police Department.
Sedlmayer was being held pending arraignment.
— Justin A.. Conklin, 26, of Jamestown, was charged with two counts of second-degree strangulation and two counts of second-degree assault against a senior citizen.
At about 4:42 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a North side address for a domestic dispute. Officers learned that Conklin applied pressure to the throat of the victim, causing the victim to be unable to breathe.
Officers were informed Conklin also struck the victim several times in the face, head, and shoulders causing injury. Officers discovered that the victim is over the age of 65 with Conklin being more than 10 years younger. Through further investigation, officers learned that Conklin committed the same actions the night prior. Conklin was located later in the evening and transported to the City Jail. He was held pending his arraignment in the Jamestown City Court.
— Dakota A. Martin, 23, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
At 10:19 p.m. Aug. 27, officers responded to a residence on the east side of the city for a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Martin. During the course of the on-scene investigation, it was determined Martin had caused damage to property belonging to the victim. Martin was taken into custody without incident and transported to the City Jail, where he was being held pending arraignment.
— William E L Blakey, 37, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal trespass.
At 4:15 p.m. Aug. 28, officers responded to an eastside address for a trespass. Upon arrival, officers observed a male inside the vacant residence. The individual, later identified as Blakey, was found hiding underneath a bed. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— STOCKTON — At around 12:50 a.m., deputies responded to 2996 Bard Road for a reported incident. Through investigation it was found that 40-year-old Michael D. Holmes of Chaffee did violate a duly served order of protection. Holmes was then taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Holmes was later transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment where he will answer to his charge.
— At around 3:09 a.m. Saturday, deputies did a crash detection report of an accident on Route 83 in the Town of Pomfret. Through an investigation, it was determined that 21-year-old Christopher S. Moya of South Dayton was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Moya was taken to the Pomfret Substation where he was later released after being charged with DWI, failure to keep right and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Moya is to be in the Town of Pomfret court later.
