CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
– Harley Gurule, 39, of Irving, was charged Oct. 22 with third-degree sexual abuse. According to officials, on Oct. 11, an investigation was conducted by the criminal investigation division. Through investigation, it was found that Gurule allegedly did subject a juvenile victim to unwanted sexual contact. Gurule will be in Hanover Town Court later.
– Robert I. Owens IV, 24, of Jamestown was charged Oct. 22 with first-degree criminal contempt. According to officials, at about 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to a Kennedy for a reported order of protection violation. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim and deputies learned that there was a letter sent to the victim from a subject whom the victim had an active order of protection against. Upon further investigation the alleged suspect was found to be Owens. Owens was placed into custody, and taken to Chautauqua County Jail. He will be in court later.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Cinnamon Swanson, 53, of Jamestown, was charged Oct. 22 with petit larceny. According to police, at about 3:10 p.m., officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at a northside business. Upon further investigation, it was found that Swanson allegedly attempted to conceal multiple items of merchandise in her
bag while she walked past the points of purchase. Swanson was stopped by store workers and she was in alleged possession of $51.68 worth of merchandise that she did not pay for. Swanson was placed into custody, and taken to the Jamestown City Jail. She will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Christopher W. Smith, 42, of Jamestown was charged Oct. 21 with attempted petit larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree tampering, having an outstanding arrest warrant, and possession of burglar’s tools. According to police, at about 9:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to a westside address for a suspicious situation. Upon arrival it was determined that Smith had allegedly attempted to steal an ebike from the address, and damaged property while attempting to steal the property. Upon further investigation, it was found that Smith had an outstanding JPD arrest warrant. Smith was located a short distance away from the address, and placed into custody. Smith was taken to city jail, and will be in city court later.
– Kimberly R. Mazzone, no age or address given, was charged Oct. 22 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, officers were patrolling the area of North Main Street and Fluvanna Avenue when officers observed a silver SUV traveling north, and failing to maintain reasonable distance from traffic traveling in the same direction. Officers then approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Mazzone. While speaking to Mazzone, officers observed drug paraphernalia near the center console of the vehicle. As a result, officers conducted a search of the vehicle where they located a quantity of fentanyl under the driver’s seat. Mazzone was placed into custody without incident, and taken to city jail. She will be in city court later.
