CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
– Michael E. Hamernik, 50, of Dunkirk, was charged Tuesday with third-degree burglary. According to officials, at about 2:51 p.m., deputies responded to a burglary in progress on Shorewood Drive in the town of Dunkirk. During the investigation it was found that Hamernik allegedly did enter a building without permission. Hendernik was placed into custody, and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail. He will be in Dunkirk Town Court later.
— SILVER CREEK — A village resident is facing charges after a domestic incident Wednesday. At around 3:56 p.m., members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office as well as the New York State Police were dispatched to an address. After investigation it was found that Joseph R. Miller III, 25, did intentionally cause physical injury to another person when he punched another male in the residence in the face causing injury. This incident did occur in the presence of two juveniles who suffer from cognitive disabilities. Miller was charged with third-degree assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
— HANOVER — At about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dre A. Jock, 33, of Hanover. After further investigation Jock was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI Per Se, aggravated DWI, and no/ inadequate lights. He will answer charges in town court.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Justice U. Martinez, 23, was charged Tuesday, with three counts of second-degree criminal contempt, and second-degree criminal trespass. According to police, at about 10:47 p.m., officers responded to an eastside address for an order of protection violation. It was reported, police said, that Martinez allegedly was inside the residence when there was an active order of protection for him to stay away from the residence. Officers made contact with three victims, who all had valid orders of protection against Martinez. Upon further investigation, officers located Martinez in a bedroom. He was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. He will be in Jamestown City Court later.
– Brantley D. Churchill, 35, of Jamestown, was charged Dec. 21 with fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to police, officers responded to an eastside residence for a past-tense domestic dispute. Through investigation it was found that Churchill allegedly caused damage to the victim’s property. Officers, police said, discovered that Churchill was involved in an argument with the victim, and later allegedly punched a radio display inside the victim’s car, causing the screen to shatter. While on scene, officers placed Churchill into custody, and he was taken to the city jail. He will be in city court later.
