DUNKIRK POLICE
— On Jan. 10, around 10:41 p.m., police responded to a local store for a past tense shoplifting. Officers reviewed store footage and identified the subject as Marcus Valez, 25, taking a 6 pack of Natural Ice Beer. Valez was located a few days later and issued an appearance ticket for petit larceny.
— On Jan. 16 around 10:39 p.m., police observed subjects inside a local business after hours. When trying to identify one of the subjects he provided a fake name. After a short investigation, it was determined the male was Julio Cruz-Hernandez, 30. He had a valid warrant out of Dunkirk City Court. He was taken into custody and held on his warrant. He also was charged with false personation.
— On Jan. 17 at 5:29 p.m., police received a call for a female at the caller’s house wanting to fight her. Once on scene patrols located a female with a bat and a female with a hammer. The female suspect with the hammer was identified as Thalia Carronza, 32. The victim with the bat stated Carronza came to her house wanting to fight. Once officers separated all parties the victim observed two broken tail lights on her car. The victim said she saw Carronza damage the car prior to officers arriving. Carronza was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.
— Gabrielle Wright, 23, was charged with false personation. Around 9:21 p.m. Jan. 16, police stopped a female walking near Lincoln Avenue and Doughty Street. Officers believed this female was Wright who they knew to have a warrant from Dunkirk City Court. Wright provided a fake name and date of birth. Officers conducted a short investigation to determine if she was telling the truth. After a short time, it was confirmed she was Wright. She also was taken into custody on her warrant.
