CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– Tina Holland, 41, of Lakewood, was charged Feb. 11 with three counts of abandonment of animals. Officials said, at about 7: a.m. deputies responded to a report from the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, town of Ellicott concerning three cats abandoned at the back entrance of the facility. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with staff members who had discovered the cats outside the building.

The investigation determined that Holland had placed two of the cats inside a cardboard box, which she then duct-taped shut.

Holland then placed a third cat into a cat carrier backpack before leaving them all at the rear entrance after hours. Officials said fortunately, employees were on site attending to another emergency, and as they were leaving for the evening, found the animals. All three cats were immediately brought inside for evaluation and veterinary care. Holland will be in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.

– Jacob A. Matherly, 32, was charged Feb. 5 with second-degree criminal contempt. Officials said, at about 3:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office was notified that Matherly violated an order of protection while incarcerated in the county jail. Matherly allegedly called the protected party multiple times. Matherly was arraigned and taken to the county jail.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Crystal A. Finstad, 23, of Jamestown, was charged Feb. 17 with third-degree assault, and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. According to police, at about 4:18 p.m., JPD officers and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department Deputies were working a Statewide Targeted Intimate Partner Initiative (STRIVE) detail in the city when they responded to an Eastside address for a report of a physical domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers found Finstad allegedly assaulted a victim by punching the victim in the face, causing minor injury, and placing her hands around the victim’s neck. Finstad was placed into custody without incident, and taken to Jamestown City Jail. She will be in Jamestown City Court later.

– Jonathan Rivera, 21, of Jamestown, was charged Feb. 18 with criminal obstruction of breathing. According to police, at about 2:02 a.m., officers responded to a Northside address for a domestic dispute. It was determined that Rivera allegedly had choked the victim. He was placed into custody, and taken to the city jail. Rivera will be in city court later.

– Courtney A. Lucas, 32, of Jamestown, Andrew Santiago, 43, of Jamestown, and Kimberly Mazzone, 43, of Jamestown were charged Feb. 17 with trespass. According to police, at about 11:12 a.m., officers responded to 128 Water St. for a report of people entering a condemned residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered Lucas, Santiago, and Mazzone allegedly had trespassed inside the building. During a safety check of the building, officers discovered a load 9mm handgun outside the residence. Pending further investigation, police said, additional charges may be forthcoming for possession of a handgun.

– Tyler P. Devlieger, 27, was charged Feb. 17 with second-degree unlawful imprisonment. According to police, at about 11:04 a.m., officers responded to an Eastside address for a reported domestic incident. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Devlieger allegedly prevented a female victim from leaving the residence when she attempted to do so multiple times. He was placed into custody, and taken to city jail. He will be in city court later.

– Benjamin F. Nelson, 43, of Jamestown, was charged Feb. 17 with being a fugitive from justice. According to police, at about 9:38 a.m., officers responded to a Camp Street address for a domestic dispute. Through investigation, it was learned that Nelson had an active bench warrant for retail theft, out of Warren County, Pa. Nelson was placed into custody without incident, and was arraigned in city court. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail.
