Panama residents charged with possession of stolen property

Two Panama residents face charges after stolen items that include an ATV were allegedly found on their property.

James L. Murray, 37, of Wiltsie Road, Panama, and Emily J. Walker, 33, of Wiltsie Road, Panama, were each charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class D felony, after a search warrant was executed at their property on Wiltsie Road at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, as part of an investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigatin Division into stolen property. The Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team entered the residence and found Murray and Walker, who were charged without incident. Investigators allegedly found several stolen items during a search of the property, including a Polaris ATV.

Murray and Walker were taken to the Chautauqua County to be arraigned in the centralized arraignment program. They were then released to be in court later.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Division were assisted by; Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, CCSO Narcotics Division, CCSO Road Patrol Division, Chautauqua County Forensic Investigation Team and Chautauqua County EMS.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– Sarah N. Parker-Ward, 28, of the town of Portland, was charged Wednesday with second-degree assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, while Aaron J. Spencer, 30, of the town of Portland was charged with second-degree attempted assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. Officials said at 9:45 p.m. deputies responded to a reported altercation that occurred. Through investigation, it was determined that Parker-Ward and Spencer committed alleged crimes. Both were placed into custody without incident and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. Both will be in Portland Town Court later.

– Benjamin S. Mescall, 41, of the town of Hanover, was charged Feb. 28 with fourth-degree criminal mischief. According to officials at about 6:59 a.m., deputies responded to an address in the town of Villenova for a report of a disorderly person. Upon investigation it was found that a Mescall of the allegedly had broken the phone of another. Benjamin was taken to the county jail for centralized arraignment, and will be in Villenova Town Court later.
