CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
– Kenneth Blendowski, 41, of Hamburg, was charged March 5 with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and improper signaling. Officials said at around 10:17 p.m., deputies were on routine patrol in the town of Pomfret, when they stopped a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation. Through investigation the operator, Blendowski was found to be operating the vehicle while allegedly intoxicated. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Pomfret substation for processing. Blendowski was later released, and will be in Pomfret Town Court later.
– Scott S. Baker, 54, of Westfield, and Kelly L. Briggs, 51, of Westfield were both charged Feb. 16 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officials said at about 3:40 p.m Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Investigators were alerted to a suspicious
situation on East Main Street in Brocton. Upon investigation into the incident, Briggs was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of fentanyl, and Baker was found to be in alleged possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. Both will appear in Portland Town Court.
– Dominic D. Baez, 28, of Silver Creek, was charged Feb. 27 with third-degree criminal tampering, and littering. According to officials, at 3:57 p.m. deputies received a littering complaint in Silver Creek. Through investigation, it was found that Baez, of the Village of Silver Creek did allegedly discard a large amount of garbage into a wooded area in Silver Creek, that is owned by the Village of Silver Creek. Officials said the actions caused a substantial inconvenience to the village and its employees. Baez will be in Hanover Town Court later.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
– Nicholas J. Reeves, 36, of Celoron, was charged March 4 with DWI, DWI per se, having a blood alcohol content higher than .08 percent, speeding, and failure to stop at a stop sign. Police said at about 9:30 p.m., officers stopped Reeves’ vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Reeves allegedly was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Reeves was placed into custody, and will be in Busti Town Court later.
– Jeffrey P. Hamilton, 47, of Lakewood, was charged March 5 with third-degree criminal mischief, and making graffiti. Police said, at about 8:32 p.m., officers executed an active arrest warrant at Hamilton’s home. Hamilton fled his home, police said, during the warrant execution, but was quickly found, and placed into custody. Hamilton will be in Busti Town Court later.
