JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

– Tiffany A. Haight, 44, of Jamestown, was charged March 22 with felony driving while intoxicated, felony DWI per se, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and several vehicle and traffic violations. According to police, at about 2:04 a.m., officers were on patrol in the area of South Main Street and the Arterial, when they observed a vehicle go through a solid red light, and continued traveling on the wrong side of the road. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and made contact with the operator, Haight. Through investigation it was determined that Haight was operating the vehicle while in an alleged intoxicated state. She was placed into custody, and submitted to a breath test which resulted in a .17 percent blood-alcohol content level. Also during the investigation, it was found that Haight had a previous DWI conviction in the preceding 10 years, and it was found that Haight was operating the vehicle with a revoked New York State driver’s license. She was taken to Jamestown City Jail and will be in Jamestown City Court later.

– Ralph R. Patterson III, 46, of Jamestown, was charged March 24 with first-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 5 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unwanted person at a westside address. Through investigation, it was found that Patterson allegedly had violated an order of protection before fleeing the scene. Officers located Patterson a short distance away, and placed him into custody without incident. Police said officers learned that Patterson has a prior conviction for second-degree criminal contempt. He was taken to the city jail, and will be in city court later.

– Mary C. Cantrell, 27, was charged with second-degree harassment, and endangering the welfare of a child. According to police, at about 7 a.m., officers responded to a southside address for a reported domestic dispute. Through investigation, it was found that Cantrell engaged in an alleged physical altercation with a child victim in close proximity. Cantrell was placed into custody without incident, and taken to the city jail. She will be in city court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

– Travis Cahill, 33, of the town of Hanover, was charged March 23 with third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree menacing, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. According to officials, at about 6 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an altercation in the town of Hanover. Upon investigation, it was determined that during the altercation Cahill allegedly broke two windows at the residence, placed another individual in fear of physical injury, and knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical and mental state of two children less than the age of 17. He was placed into custody, and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized processing. He will be in Hanover Town Court later.
