Jamestown woman charged in alleged kidnapping
A Jamestown woman has been charged by Ellicott police after an alleged kidnapping attempt on Saturday.
Angelea A. Luszcak, 33, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree attempted kidnapping, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment after an incident Saturday after Ellicott police responded to a report of a woman attempting to kidnap a child in the area. It’s alleged Luszcak approached an 8-year-old and grabbed onto the child’s coat. Luszcak then allegedly started to drag the youth down the alley and away from her home. Another youth, according to a police report, witnessed the incident and reportedly ran into a house to get an adult. The youth was able to get away from Luszcak and a parent came out to assist the child before Luszcak fled the area.
Luszcak was found a short time after police arrived at the scene and was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail until she could be arraigned. She will be in Ellicott Town Court later.
