CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— HANOVER — An incident early Friday with a weapon has led to charges.

Around 12:01 a.m., members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an altercation. Through an investigation it was found that 38-year-old Jamar Fountain or Irving to have intentionally placed a person of reasonable fear of serious physical injury by displaying a deadly weapon.

Fountain was located a short time later and taken into custody on second-degree harassment and second-degree menacing charges. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for Central Arraignment Program.

— SHERMAN — At around 8:22 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to an address in the village of Sherman for a past-tense burglary. Through an investigation, it was found that Kevin C. Cole, 62, of Sherman was inside a condemned residence on June 27 that he was not authorized to be in. Cole was charged with second-degree trespass and will be in court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Luis A. Ruiz, 39, of Jamestown, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt.

At 1:45 p.m. July 2, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon were dispatched to a west side address for a report of a suspicious situation. Officers determined that Ruiz was actively violating an Order of Protection requiring him to stay away from a female victim who was on scene.

Officers placed Ruiz into custody and transported him to the Jamestown City

Jail. He was to be housed in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.

— Timothy Gonzalez, 40, Jamestown, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, having an outstanding warrant and second-degree criminal contempt.

At about 11:24 a.m. July 2, officers responded to a complaint of a lost child on the East side of the city. Upon arrival, officers observed the child standing in front of a residence. The mother of the child arrived on scene at the same time as officers.

After speaking with her she advised officers that she left her son in the care of her boyfriend,

Gonzalez. The child was left alone by Gonzalez for more than 20 minutes and a pizza was left in the oven with the oven on.

Gonzalez was located a short period after and taken into custody.
